Bihar: In a significant event commemorating the legacy of grassroots struggles in Bihar, CPI M General Secretary M A Baby unveiled a statue of the late Bhogendra Yadav, a respected leader of the CPI M and AIKS, in Husainpur village of Madhubani district. Yadav, a former member of the CPI M State Committee and District Secretary, was remembered for his unwavering dedication to the people's movements in the region.
The ceremony drew a large and enthusiastic crowd. Among the prominent leaders who addressed the gathering were CPI M Polit Bureau member Dr Ashok Dhawale, CPI M State Secretary and Central Committee Member (CCM) Lalan Choudhary, CCM Awadhesh Kumar, State Secretariat members Ajay Kumar, MLA, and Rampari Devi, along with CPI State Secretary and former MLA Ram Naresh Pandey. RJD Rajya Sabha MP Dr Faiyaz Ahmad and CPI M leaders Manoj Kumar Yadav and Sheela Devi also paid tributes and spoke on the occasion.
In their speeches, the leaders praised Bhogendra Yadav’s lifelong commitment to Left ideals and the struggles of the rural poor. They highlighted the historic role of Left-led movements in Madhubani and the broader region of Bihar. The speakers also strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, asserting that terrorism has no religion, and warned against the communal polarisation tactics employed by the RSS-BJP forces.
Looking ahead to the upcoming Bihar Vidhan Sabha elections, the leaders called for the defeat of the BJP-NDA government in the state. They urged the people to rally behind the INDIA -alliance, which has already begun its election campaign across the state.
