New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said the party would march to the Prime Minister’s residence on Tuesday to protest the Centre’s policy of blending ethanol with petrol.

The march will be held with more than two lakh petitions opposing the E20 policy, under which petrol contains 20% ethanol.

Addressing a programme organised at Mavalankar Hall in Delhi, Kejriwal said vehicle owners should have the freedom to choose between petrol and E20 fuel. He also demanded that petrol be made available at a lower price than E20 and that the price of petrol be reduced to below ₹84 per litre.

“The government is forcibly imposing ethanol to please the United States. The ethanol policy is a result of a free trade agreement that requires India to purchase $100 billion worth of American products within five years,” Kejriwal said.
