YouTube ‘Miracle Healer’ Arrested in Kerala on Sexual Assault Charges

Thiruvananthapuram: A YouTuber who claimed to be a spiritual healer and miracle-performer has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Malappuram. The accused has been identified as Sajil Cherupanakkad — also known as Sajin Sharafudheen — from Kalikavu. He runs the YouTube channel Miracle Path, which has more than 27,000 followers. Police arrested him in Thiruvananthapuram after he had absconded.

According to the police, Sajil portrayed himself as someone with supernatural powers and the ability to perform divine interventions. Many people reportedly approached him after watching his videos. The complainant came into contact with him via his channel, believing his claims of spiritual and mantra abilities.

According to police, the accused later visited her residence and sexually assaulted her. In her statement, she alleged that he manipulated her by claiming he could “implant a divine pregnancy” and used this as a pretext to approach her.

Following the complaint, a rape case was registered at the Kolathur police station, and an investigation was launched. Police confirmed that Sajil is also an accused in another rape case filed at the Kalpakanchery police station in Malappuram. Several others have already approached authorities with complaints of being cheated or exploited by him, officials said.

The accused was produced before court and has been remanded to judicial custody. Police stated that further investigation is underway, as more victims may come forward.
