Thiruvananthapuram: A Youth Congress leader in Thiruvananthapuram sparked controversy by celebrating his birthday in a “gangster-style” manner, cutting a cake with a sword on the road. The video of the celebration, shared on social media, drew widespread criticism.

The controversial event took place at Parurkuzhi Junction. Reports suggest that several individuals with criminal cases were present at the celebration. The birthday celebrant, Gokul, had previously contested as a UDF candidate in the Pallichal Panchayat and is the President of the KSU Kattakkada Assembly Division.
