Women Journalists Urge: Do Not Protect Mamkootathil

Thiruvananthapuram: A women's journalist group has written an open letter to the AICC president, demanding that the party not protect rape-accused Rahul Mamkootathil and Congress members who are cyberattacking survivors. The complaint was submitted by the Network of Women in Media, India. Copies of the letter were also sent to Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.

The letter states that Rahul Mamkootathil’s associates are threatening and subjecting the journalist who filed a sexual harassment complaint to severe cyberattacks. It also demands action against those who are assisting Rahul Mamkootathil.

The survivor who filed the initial rape complaint against Rahul Mamkootathil is also a member of the Network of Women in Media. The letter further calls for the formation of an internal committee, including senior women leaders and legal experts, to handle such complaints.
