Youth Congress Protest Politically Motivated: Veena George; Protesters Following VD Satheesan's Instructions

Kalpetta: Health Minister Veena George has alleged that the Youth Congress protested at her official residence following instructions from Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan. She said the Youth Congress must clarify the reasons for staging the attack.

Referring to the recent incident in Alappuzha, the minister stated that the Health Department had acted promptly. “Necessary action was taken within hours, and it was decided to conduct a proper investigation,” she said. However, she accused certain sections of the media of spreading propaganda that misled the public.

According to the minister, the agitation is politically motivated and stems from the Congress party’s fear of defeat in the upcoming Assembly elections.

‘No Tolerance for Medical Negligence’

Veena George asserted that the government would not tolerate any form of medical malpractice. “Strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty of wrongdoing. The government has already taken the required steps,” she said.

At the same time, she also stated that attempts are being made to portray all government hospitals in a negative light. The minister further claimed that VD Satheesan and his associates were adopting a stance that indirectly benefits private parties with vested interests in the hospital sector.
