Kannur: The medical team treating Kerala Health Minister Veena George, who sustained injuries in an attack by KSU members, has recommended a detailed examination. A medical bulletin issued following an assessment by a specialist team from Pariyaram Government Medical College stated that an MRA scan is required in connection with her neck injury.

The minister may be shifted to PariyaramKannur Government Medical College for further evaluation and treatment, the bulletin added.

The attack occurred on Wednesday when the minister arrived at Kannur Railway Station to board the Vande Bharat Express after attending the inauguration of the International Ayurveda Research Centre in Kalyad.

The minister’s vehicle was targeted shortly before it reached the station. As she entered through the main entrance of Platform No. 1, Youth Congress–KSU workers emerged from inside the station premises. While one protester who rushed forward with a black flag was restrained by police, four others moved toward the minister and attacked her.
