Last-Minute Ticket Booking Allowed on Select Vande Bharat Trains

Thiruvananthapuram: Southern Railway has updated its reservation system, allowing passengers to book tickets up to 15 minutes before the scheduled departure of select Vande Bharat Express trains. The change, implemented on Thursday, applies to eight services under its network. Current reservation is now permitted just before the train departs or arrives at stations.
The trains covered under this revised policy include those running between Mangaluru Central and Thiruvananthapuram Central, Thiruvananthapuram Central and Mangaluru Central, Chennai Egmore and Nagercoil, Nagercoil and Chennai Egmore, Coimbatore and Bengaluru Cantonment, Mangaluru Central and Madgaon, Madurai and Bengaluru Cantonment, and Chennai Central and Vijayawada.
While the revised timing allows for more flexibility in last-minute travel, regular passengers warn that trains passing through Kerala are usually fully booked on most days, leaving very few seats available for those relying on current reservation.
