Thiruvananthapuram: The revelations by UDF convener Adoor Prakash MP regarding Sabarimala gold case prime accused Unnikrishnan Potti’s meetings with former Congress president Sonia Gandhi are extremely serious, said V Sivankutty, Kerala’s Minister for General Education and Labour.

Adoor Prakash’s claim that he does not know who arranged the opportunity for Potti to meet Sonia Gandhi, who is under high- security protection, is suspicious. In this context, AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal should provide a clear response.

Adoor Prakash has now revealed that Unnikrishnan Potti has met Sonia Gandhi multiple times with different people. The UDF convener is unable to answer how Potti secured meetings that were not available even to senior Congress leaders. The Congress leadership must clarify whether such meetings could have occurred without the knowledge of K C Venugopal, who is closely associated with the Gandhi family.

Adoor Prakash’s unusual responses, including suggesting that the media should investigate who arranged the appointments, have raised further doubts. His claim that Potti went to Sonia Gandhi’s residence upon calling in 2019 strains credibility. Losing composure in the face of legitimate media questions suggests possible guilt. Minister Sivankutty added that the connection between the Sabarimala gold case prime accused and senior Congress leaders has now been exposed to the public.
