UDF Worker Injured After Backflip in Palakkad 'Kalashakottu'; KPCC Leader Falls from Campaign Vehicle in Kozhikode

Palakkad: A UDF worker sustained injuries during the campaign finale in Palakkad after attempting a backflip from the roof of a private bus in an over-enthusiastic moment. The worker was admitted to hospital with injuries. The incident took place at Tharoor Thonippadam Kundukad Junction during the final day of campaigning for the second phase of the local body elections.


Meanwhile, in Kozhikode, KPCC General Secretary K Jayanth was injured after slipping and falling from a campaign vehicle during a concluding rally. The accident occurred as he was stepping down after delivering a speech. Jayanth fell onto a generator placed on the vehicle, suffering a rib injury, and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.


Voting for the second phase of the local body elections will be held on Thursday across 12,391 wards in 604 local bodies in Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasargod districts. With silent campaigning beginning tomorrow, candidates and political fronts are making their final efforts to secure votes.
