Transplant Medicines Now Available at the Lowest Prices: Zero-Profit Counters Launched

Thiruvananthapuram: Transplant medicines for patients undergoing organ transplant surgery are made available at the lowest price through zero-profit counters. These medicines are distributed via 'Kanuyasparsham' Zero Profit Counters operating in 14 selected Karunya Pharmacies. The state-level inauguration of the scheme was performed by Health Minister Veena George at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. The Minister also inaugurated various projects at the Health Hub, the integrated Karunya Pharmacy counter, and the foundation stone laying of the multi-level car parking.

With the aim of making high-priced anti-cancer medicines available at the lowest possible cost to the public, the innovative initiative 'Karunyasparsham' has been implemented through the Karunya Community Pharmacies under the Kerala Medical Services Corporation. As part of this initiative, in the first phase, zero-profit high-value anti-cancer medicine counters were set up in 14 Karunya Pharmacies across the state. Subsequently, Karunyasparsham counters were established in 58 Karunya Pharmacies across 14 districts. These counters provide medicines at significantly lower prices without making any profit from the MRP.

The medicines are distributed through Karunya Pharmacies, including Medical College Hospital Thiruvananthapuram, Government Victoria Hospital Kollam, General Hospital Pathanamthitta, Medical College Hospital Alappuzha, Medical College Hospital Kottayam, Taluk Hospital Nedukandam, General Hospital Ernakulam, Medical College Hospital Thrissur, District Hospital Palakkad, Tirur, Medical College Kozhikode, and District Hospital Kasargod.
