Thrissur Railway Station Fire: CPI(M) State Secretary M V Govindan Inspects Site

Thrissur: CPI(M) State Secretary M V Govindan visited the area affected by the fire at Thrissur Railway Station. He said that the prompt and efficient response of the Fire Force helped in extinguishing the fire quickly and prevented a major disaster.

The fire broke out around 6.20 am on Sunday in the two-wheeler parking area near the second gate of the railway station. Preliminary estimates suggest that around 300 vehicles were completely destroyed in the blaze. The fire also spread to a railway tower car parked nearby, causing damage.

The total loss is estimated to be more than 3 crore rupees. No casualties were reported, authorities said.
