Brain Dead Road Accident Victim Krishnalal to Live On Through Five Organ Recipients

Organ Donor Krishnalal (L)
Thiruvananthapuram: A 33-year-old man from Thiruvananthapuram, who suffered brain death while undergoing treatment at KIMS Hospital following a road accident, will give life to five others through organ donation. Krishnalal's family has consented to donate his heart, both kidneys, liver, and eyes. His heart is to be transported to Kottayam Medical College Hospital by air ambulance on Sunday afternoon.
This is the fifth organ donation in Kerala within the span of two months, reflecting a growing culture of life-saving generosity across the state.
In February, two donations were facilitated through K-SOTO. Ten-month-old Alin Sherin Abraham, who passed away on February 13 after suffering brain death, became the youngest organ donor in Kerala's history. Her parents, Arun Abraham and Sherin Ann John consented to donate the infant's liver, both kidneys, heart valves, and corneas. On February 24, Jijin, an LD Clerk at Chadayamangalam Block Panchayat, was declared brain dead, and his family donated his corneas, kidneys, heart, liver, and pancreas.
Jaslia Johnson of Edavanakkad, who was declared brain dead on March 3, donated her liver, both kidneys, and corneas. The fourth donation came on March 14, when Binu of Chadayamangalam, Kollam, donated his heart, liver, kidneys, and corneas.
