K Sudhakaran Retracts Former Statements Defending Rahul Mamkoottathil

Thiruvananthapuram: Even when admitting that Rahul Mamkoottathil is at fault, K. Sudhakaran, in a flustered state, could not outright reject him. Contrary to his previous statement, Sudhakaran is now saying that he never said anywhere that Rahul is not at fault. However, at that time, he insisted that Rahul had not committed any major mistake that would warrant ending his political career.

He added that since a case has been filed, the party will take further decisions based on its consequences. “I have my word, my honor, my effort, and my trust. Everything I said, I meant it. I never said what he did was right. All I said was that his political career should not be ended based on this,” he said.

Sudhakaran also mentioned that the audio recording did not reflect the truth right up to the point the woman filed the complaint and that it was part of a move to defame Rahul. He previously stated that the Congress does not distrust Rahul and that Rahul should take an active role in politics. “It doesn’t matter who opposes. When I spoke to Rahul on the phone, it became clear he was not at fault. I will share the stage with Rahul,” Sudhakaran said earlier.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders including Chennithala and Satheesh are repeatedly questioning what more needs to be done beyond suspending him from the party.
