Kottayam: The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) achieved a historic victory in the Mahatma Gandhi University Department Union elections, rendering the Kerala Students Union (KSU) ineffective. SFI won all the seats where elections were held, securing clear majorities in every seat. The results once again demonstrate the firm support extended by the university campus to progressive, student-centric politics.

At the nomination stage itself, SFI candidates were elected unopposed in four seats. In the fiercely contested elections for the remaining 14 seats, SFI candidates ensured victory by decisively defeating KSU candidates. Following the results, SFI activists celebrated across the university campus.

The victory reflects the strong endorsement by the student community of SFI’s comprehensive political positions aimed at safeguarding student rights. On behalf of the SFI district committee, District Secretary B. Ashik and District President Vaishnavi Shaji congratulated all students who worked tirelessly day and night to ensure the electoral success.
