SFI Launches Protest Against Kerala Story 2; Organises Porotta-Beef Event

Thiruvananthapuram: The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has launched a protest against the movie Kerala Story 2, which spreads hate propaganda and attempts to defame Kerala. As part of the protest, the SFI district committee will serve porotta and beef at Manaveeyam Veedhi in Thiruvananthapuram today.
According to SFI leaders, the protest is aimed at countering what they describe as a deliberate attempt in the film’s trailer to misrepresent Kerala’s society, women and food culture. A particular scene showing a young woman being forcefully made to eat beef has drawn strong criticism, with the organisation calling it an insult to Kerala’s cultural identity.
SFI has accused the film of promoting a divisive agenda that targets Kerala’s secular values and religious harmony. The protest is being held as part of its campaign titled “The Real Kerala Story,” which seeks to highlight the state’s inclusive social fabric.
The organisation said protests against the film will be intensified across campuses in the coming days. SFI leaders stated that any attempt to spread hatred and communal divisions in the name of cinema would be firmly opposed.
Similar beef festivals and protest programmes are also planned at various centres across the state, the organisation said.
