Morphed Images Case: Police Seek Custody of Accused Sanish Who Sold Pornographic Videos

Kochi: The custody application of Sanish, who allegedly sold pornographic videos through a premium group, will be considered today in the case involving a gang accused of morphing photographs and videos of women, including students, and creating obscene content. Police hope to obtain more information about the racket from Sanish, a BCom student at Mavelikara IHRD College.

Sanish was traced during the investigation that followed the arrest of Srihari, a KSU leader from Bharata Mata College in Thrikkakara. The investigation team found that Sanish had been making money by uploading pornographic content to the “Mallu Premium” group. Both Sanish and Srihari have been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act after child sexual abuse material was found on their phones.

The “Mallu Premium” group and other related groups have since been deleted. Police are attempting to recover the deleted content and have written to Telegram seeking further information for the investigation.

The investigation has also established the involvement of people from other states, including a native of Jharkhand, in the racket. Police are preparing to arraign those who paid to join the group as accused in the case.
