Pathanamthitta: The Sangh Parivar organised a “Sabarimala Protection Gathering” in Pandalam, spreading communal venom and insulting the Chief Ministers of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Speaking at the event, Shantanandama Maharshi, president of the Sreeramadas Mission, claimed that Vavar was a terrorist and a Muslim invader.
Former Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai, in his inaugural speech, insulted Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin. Swami Ayyappadas, founding trustee of the Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam, made a hate -filled remark saying, “It is only because Sabarimala exists that Hindus remain here; otherwise Hindus would long ago have been converted into some other religion.”
The communal gathering was held soon after the Travancore Devaswom Board organised the Global Ayyappa Meet at Pampa with the goal of developing Sabarimala. That event, which aimed to shape Sabarimala into a global pilgrimage centre, drew 4,126 participants including representatives of 28 organisations. Among them were 182 people from 15 countries, including the USA, Canada, UK, Sri Lanka, and Singapore.
