Democratic India Built on People’s Firm Resolve, Says Speaker Shamseer in Republic Day Greetings

Thiruvananthapuram: As India, a sovereign democratic republic, steps into its 77th Republic Day, Kerala Legislative Assembly Speaker A N Shamseer extended Republic Day greetings to the public. He stated that democratic India today is the result of people’s firm resolve that freedom is a right and something worth fighting for.

The Indian Constitution guarantees equal consideration, justice, and rights to all people. At present, the world is witnessing situations where power-driven aggression, land grabs, and the devastation of wars are intensifying.

In such times, the Speaker said in his Republic Day message that it is the Constitution and constitutional institutions that protect democracy and the rights of ordinary citizens. He emphasized that we must remember the brave patriots who fought for the birth of democratic India and the architects of the Constitution.

He added that democratic-civic consciousness, along with freedom and equality, must live within all of us, and concluded his message by once again extending Republic Day greetings to everyone.
