Thiruvananthapuram: The LDF government has recorded a landmark achievement in public sector recruitment, with the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) making a record number of appointment recommendations in 2025. During the year, recommendations were issued to 36,813 candidates across various categories, reinforcing Kerala’s position as a national leader in transparent and large-scale government recruitment.

This marked the third consecutive year in which the PSC recommended appointments for more than 30,000 candidates, a rare feat in the country. The figures reflect a sustained momentum in recruitment rather than a one-time surge.

As part of the recruitment process during 2025, the PSC issued notifications for 902 posts, published rank lists for 1,130 posts and shortlists for 1,276 posts, and conducted examinations for 1,405 posts. In comparison, appointment recommendations were made for 34,194 candidates in 2024 and 34,110 candidates in 2023. Since the LDF government came to power, the number of appointment recommendations made over the past nine and a half years has crossed three lakh.

Officials attribute the steady rise in recruitment to the creation of new posts in essential sectors, along with the systematic and timely reporting of vacancies by government departments.

Kerala continues to dominate public service recruitment at the national level, accounting for 60 per cent of PSC appointments made across the country. Data from the Union Public Service Commission also show that the Kerala PSC ranks first in India in ensuring compliance with reservation norms in government recruitment.
