Haripad: Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has admitted that he is unaware of the financial details surrounding land purchased by the KPCC for a housing scheme intended to rehabilitate victims of the Wayanad disaster. He made the remarks while speaking to journalists in Haripad.

When reporters pointed out discrepancies in the figures released by the KPCC president regarding the land purchase, Chennithala sought to sidestep the question by claiming he had no knowledge of the accounts. He acknowledged that construction of houses on the purchased land has not yet begun, while stating that papers have been submitted for the necessary permissions and that funds for construction would be arranged once approvals are received. He also clarified that the opposition leader had not claimed that construction had already started.

Chennithala further repeated the claim that delays in construction were attributable to the state government's failure to provide land — an assertion the LDF has categorically rejected as false.
