R Sreelekha Renews Criticism of BJP Leadership Over Mayor Post

Thiruvananthapuram: R Sreelekha has once again publicly expressed her displeasure with the BJP leadership for not appointing her as mayor. In her remarks, she suggested that she had been brought in with the intention of making her mayor but was instead confined to the role of a councillor. She said she could now intervene only in matters of immediate necessity in her capacity as a councillor.

Sreelekha made the remarks on her YouTube channel, 'Sasneham Sreelekha'. She said people visit her home every day with complaints and problems from her ward, including on Sundays. However, she said her powers to address these issues were limited in her role as a councillor.

She also revealed that she had submitted her resignation on the 30th of last month but withdrew it following instructions from the party leadership.

Sreelekha said she was continuing as a councillor despite the difficulties. She added that several people she had trusted had not stood by her during times of crisis and that she had now realised who her true friends were. She said she had initially wanted to step aside for the time being.
