Minor Girl Sexually Abused by Father, Relatives in Punnapra, Three Arrested

Punnapra: A 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her father and relatives in Punnapra, Alappuzha. Police said that the girl had been brutally abused for about four years by the accused. The investigation started after the girl disclosed the abuse to a relative, following which, the girl's father and two relatives were arrested.

According to reports, the survivor is the daughter from the primary accused's second marriage. The South Police has previously registered a POCSO case following the revelation that the girl was previously raped by her maternal uncle when she was eight. The accused was later arrested. Reportedly, the accused committed suicide after being released on bail.

After the mother left the family, the girl was moved to the house of her father's sister. After she suffered severe physical abuse from her father's sister, the child was taken into the care of the CWC.

In 2022, the father took the child from the care of CWC. It has been informed that they were living in a relative's house. It was here that the girl faced sexual abuse from her own father and two relatives. The girl recently told her relative about the cruelty she faced and The relative told her mother, who is a councilor. They later informed the police. A POCSO case has been registered against four people, among whom three are arrested. One is yet to be found.
