Thiruvananthapuram: President Droupadi Murmu will arrive in Kerala on Tuesday for a four-day official visit, during which she will attend several programmes across the state and visit the Sabarimala temple.
According to a statement from the Press Information Bureau, the President will reach Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday evening and proceed to Sabarimala on Wednesday.
Officials of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) said all arrangements have been completed at Sabarimala for the President’s visit. Murmu will travel to Sannidhanam in a convoy of five four-wheel-drive vehicles and an ambulance via the Swami Ayyappan Road and the traditional trekking route.
Security has been tightened in and around the area, and a rehearsal of the convoy movement was carried out recently, TDB officials said.
On Thursday, October 23, President Murmu will unveil the bust of former President K. R. Narayanan at the Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram. She will then inaugurate the observance of the Mahasamadhi Centenary of Sree Narayana Guru at Sivagiri Mutt in Varkala. Later in the day, she will attend the valedictory function of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of St. Thomas College, Pala, in Kottayam district.
On October 24, the President will participate in the centenary celebrations of St. Teresa’s College in Ernakulam, marking the conclusion of her Kerala visit.
