Fact Check: No Congratulatory Call From Pinarayi Vijayan to VV Rajesh

Thiruvananthapuram: The news claiming that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan called and congratulated Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Mayor VV Rajesh is completely false.
On Friday morning, VV Rajesh called the Chief Minister’s Personal Assistant requesting to speak with the Chief Minister. Since the Chief Minister was not available at that time, the PA informed him that the call could be connected later. Subsequently, the PA called back and connected Rajesh with the Chief Minister.
Rajesh told the Chief Minister that he was about to be elected as mayor and that he would come to meet him in person after that. The Chief Minister responded by saying, “Alright; congratulations.”
This incident was twisted and misrepresented by Rajesh to certain media outlets as if the Chief Minister had called and offered congratulations, leading to the spread of false news. This was orchestrated through Janam TV. This fabricated story, created just before the swearing-in ceremony, serves as clear evidence of how the BJP intends to run the corporation administration.
This morning, Rajesh had called the Chief Minister’s PA requesting to speak with him. When the PA conveyed this to the Chief Minister, he took the call and spoke. The Chief Minister did not call Rajesh, nor did he offer any congratulations.
