Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan Visits Kalladi Landslide Site, Meets Survivors and Rescue Teams

Wayanad: Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan visited the landslide-hit Kalladi area in Wayanad on Thursday morning. He arrived at the disaster site at around 9.30 am.
He was accompanied by CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan, state secretariat member M V Jayarajan, Wayanad district secretary K Rafeeq and state secretariat member C K Saseendran.
Pinarayi visited the landslide site as well as the stretch along the Meenakshi River where search operations are underway for the missing persons. He also interacted with rescue personnel and officials at the site.
He later visited the relief camp at the Meppadi Polytechnic, where around 50 families are being sheltered. The Opposition Leader met estate workers and local residents staying at the camp. Following this, he also called on the rescued people admitted at the hospital. He also met Balraj and Kudammal, the couple who miraculously survived the landslide, and spoke with them.
