India–US Trade Agreement Raises Serious Concerns; Full Agreement Should Be Presented in Parliament, Public, Says CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the India–US trade agreement raises serious concerns. He warned that tariff reductions on US would adversely affect Indian farmers, workers, and domestic industries in India. He also added that it could also push the country towards greater inequality and dependency.
The Chief Minister demanded that the full agreement of the agreement be placed before Parliament and the public. Any provision that threatens livelihoods, food security, or India’s economic sovereignty must be strongly resisted, he said in a social media post.
