Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Minister for Cultural Affairs Saji Cherian said that people will reject the second part of The Kerala Story, describing the film as an attempt to spread communal hatred against Kerala and the Muslim community. He said the first part had already failed in its attempt to defame the state, and the sequel would face the same response from the public.

The minister said such films target Kerala’s secular and democratic values and are driven by forces that cannot accept the state’s social harmony and development model. He added that efforts to spread division through cinema would not succeed in a society that believes in coexistence.

The film, produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, has triggered controversy following the release of its trailer. The trailer ends with the line, “Before your daughter becomes the next target,” and includes claims that India will turn into an Islamic State within 25 years with the implementation of Sharia law.

It also contains scenes that have drawn criticism for being unrealistic and provocative, including one showing a Malayali girl being forced to eat beef. The trailer has triggered strong criticism and backlash on social media, with many users questioning its portrayal of Kerala and its social reality.
