Thiruvananthapuram: As part of Operation D-Hunt, a statewide special drive conducted on Saturday subjected 1,349 persons suspected of involvement in drug trafficking to checks. Police registered 73 cases for possession of various banned narcotic substances and arrested 77 people.

During the operation, police seized dangerous narcotic drugs including MDMA (23.4 grams), ganja (19.50954 kilograms), and 38 ganja beedis from the accused.

Operation D-Hunt is being carried out across the state to identify individuals involved in the storage and sale of banned narcotic substances and to take strict legal action against them. To encourage public participation, a 24-hour Anti-Narcotics Control Room has been set up to receive information related to drug trafficking. The contact number is 9497927797, and the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.

To further strengthen anti-drug measures, the State Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Cell and the NDPS Coordination Cell are functioning under the direct supervision of the ADGP (Law and Order). In addition, range-level Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Cells are also operational across the state.
