M V Govindan Questions CM's Claim on Adani–MSC Vizhinjam Share Transfer

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan has said he cannot accept Chief Minister V D Satheesan's claim that he was unaware of Adani's move to transfer 49 percent of Vizhinjam port's shares to the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) in violation of the concession agreement.
Under the agreement, transferring more than 25 percent of shares requires the state government's approval. The Adani Group, however, is attempting to sell shares to MSC — one of the world's largest shipping companies — by bypassing this condition. Govindan said it is impossible to accept or believe that the CM, who organised a trip to Bengaluru in connection with Adani, incorporated various deals emerging from that visit even in the White Paper, is now claiming to have learned about the matter only through newspapers.
