No Anti-Government Sentiment, LDF Confident of Victory: MV Govindan

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) State Secretary M.V. Govindan asserted there is no anti-government sentiment in the state. He made these remarks while reviewing media coverage following the release of exit poll results.

Regarding the LDF, there is absolutely no anxiety. The surveys clearly presented two key points to the public: first, no anti-government mood exists; second, Pinarayi Vijayan remains the leading candidate for Chief Minister.

The exit polls predict 60-69 seats for the LDF—just two seats shy of a simple majority at 69, with a noted margin of error of 5-8 seats. Govindan emphasized that the surveys actually indicate victory prospects for the Left Democratic Front, eliminating any cause for concern.

"Exit polls secretly admit what they won't say publicly—that the LDF will return to power," he stated. He dismissed BJP projections of up to 14 seats as baseless, insisting they won't win even one.

Govindan criticized some surveys tainted by bias, particularly those from media outlets determined to favor UDF. "Kerala and India have no newspaper bold enough to declare LDF's confidence outright," he noted. Ultimately, the LDF places its trust above surveys—in the people themselves.
