SFI Workers Attacked by KSU-Drug Mafia Group in Muvattupuzha

Muvattupuzha: SFI workers were attacked by a KSU–drug mafia group in connection with the Nirmala College union election in Muvattupuzha. SFI flags, banners and other materials put up at the college following the election victory were destroyed, and SFI workers were assaulted.

SFI area president S Karthik, joint secretary Ananthu Rajan and Nirmala College unit secretary Jinu Saji, who were injured in the attack, were allegedly assaulted again while returning from the hospital. At around 9.30 pm, a group of around 10 people who arrived on two-wheelers knocked them down with a vehicle before launching a brutal attack.

The SFI leaders sustained serious injuries to their heads, ears and other parts of their bodies in the alleged attack involving knives and other weapons.

DYFI block secretary Febin P Moosa and SFI area secretary Amal Reji visited the injured leaders while they were undergoing treatment. They demanded the immediate arrest of the alleged drug mafia group that led the violence and said the attack on SFI workers would be resisted by mobilising students.
