State School Art Festival: Mohanlal to be Chief Guest at Closing Ceremony

Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Mohanlal will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 64th State School Arts Festival, Asia’s largest adolescent arts festival, Minister V Sivankutty announced. The festival is scheduled to be held in Thrissur from January 14 to 18, with a series of preparatory events taking place on December 20.

The celebrations will begin at 11 am at Thekkinkadu Maidan with the traditional “kalnattu” procession of the festival flag. At 12 noon, the festival logo and programme schedule will be unveiled at the welcome committee office in Thrissur Government Model Girls HSS, along with the announcement of the media awards. This will be followed by a review meeting of various committee chairpersons and conveners. The session will be chaired by the Education Minister and attended by Ministers K. Rajan and Dr. R Bindu.

The review meeting will evaluate the work completed so far by the sub-committees under the welcome committee and discuss the progress of all arrangements, including the venue, dining, accommodation, security, and transportation.

Over five days, competitions will be held across 339 events. The high school category includes 96 events, the higher secondary category 105 events, while the Sanskrit and Arabic arts festivals will each feature 19 events. The schedule has been designed to ensure convenience for participants and an enjoyable experience for the audience.
