Thiruvananthapuram: Minister P.A. Muhammad Riyas stated that Kerala's tourism sector is breaking all-time records. In a news channel program, the minister mentioned that there will be a historic increase in the number of foreign tourists in 2025. Reflecting on his tenure, he noted that the challenges posed by COVID-19 were overcome through discussions with experts from various sectors.

Tourist destinations like Munnar have witnessed record levels of foreign tourists. New tourist spots were discovered, and their beauty was showcased through the media, leading to significant success in responsible tourism. This achievement has garnered international recognition.

Additionally, the transformation of Kerala's beaches has further strengthened the state's tourism sector. Beaches such as Bekal, Muzhappilangad, Beypore, and Kozhikode stretching from one end of the state to the other have been upgraded to international standards. Minister Riyas emphasised that Kerala's tourism sector is not competing with other Indian states, but with foreign countries.
