Kochi: Bollywood actor and endurance runner Milind Soman will participate in the ‘Hill Highway Run’ on February 22 to highlight the engineering strength of Kerala’s Hill Highway project. The run will begin at 7 am on the Elappara–Kanchiyar stretch in Idukki district.

Milind will run 22 kilometres, starting from Elappara, passing through Chappath and finishing at Kanchiyar town. The event is one of his major public runs after completing a 450-kilometre run along the Mumbai Highway last year.

The Hill Highway project in Kerala extends 1,332 kilometres from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram. The route has dedicated ducts for electricity and internet cables, and rest centres are planned at intervals of 50 kilometres.

The Idukki stretch of the Hill Highway was completed with financial support from KIIFB at a cost of about 134.4 crore rupees. Modern technology capable of withstanding natural calamities was used in the road construction.

Milind Soman’s call to the public, “Ennal Vaa…” (Come along), has gained attention on social media. Those who wish to participate in the run can register through KIIFB’s official website, www.kiifb.org or through the WhatsApp bot at +91 9072000430.
