‘Now You Only Make Us Cry’: Mammootty Mourns Salim Kumar

Kochi: Actor Mammootty has expressed deep condolences over the passing of Salim Kumar, posting an emotional tribute on social media. "Saleem, you who laughed and made others laugh, who thought and made others think, who sometimes cried and made others cry — now you only make us cry. Your passing, dear brother, is a grief without end," he wrote.

Salim Kumar passed away on Saturday night at Amrita Hospital, Edappally, where he had been placed on ventilator support after his liver condition worsened. He was 57 and had been away from active filmmaking for some time due to illness.

He is survived by his wife Sunitha and sons Chanthu and Aromal. The body will be kept for public homage at Vadakkan Paravur Municipal Town Hall on Sunday at 9 am, before being taken to his residence 'Laughing Villa' in Chittattukara at 1 pm. The funeral will be held at around 5 pm.
