CEC Gyanesh Kumar Abused Power, Says M A Baby; Calls for Impeachment

New Delhi: CPI(M) General Secretary M A Baby alleged that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar had misused his authority with authoritarian tendencies. Baby said CEC was engaging in activities unbecoming of a person holding an official position.

He alleged that Gyanesh Kumar had been selected and entrusted with the post after providing special services to the BJP and gaining the trust of Amit Shah, Narendra Modi and Mohan Bhagwat. He also demanded that Gyanesh Kumar be impeached.

“It has become clear how the BJP came to power. The situation now is that voters have to struggle to exercise their right to vote. Voters opposed to the BJP are being completely excluded. Thirteen crore voters have been removed from the electoral rolls,” M A Baby said.

He called for protests from the people against the situation and urged political parties to form a united front. This is a time when everyone must stand together, he said.
