Thiruvananthapuram: LDF Convener T.P. Ramakrishnan has demanded that the Congress and KPCC leadership explain reports that Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan met NDA leaders in Mangaluru on May 1. According to the reports, Satheesan travelled to Mangaluru by special flight, accompanied by a person named Rejikumar who was questioned by an SIT in the gold theft case. During the visit, Satheesan allegedly met the President of the Adani Group at the residence of Karnataka NDA leader B.M. Farooq.

Reports also indicate that the Karnataka Congress Committee has filed a complaint with the AICC leadership over the meeting. Ramakrishnan called the reports very serious and said both KPCC and AICC must provide a clear explanation.

The LDF Convener also criticised what he described as anti-people moves by the UDF even before forming a government. He alleged that Supplyco rice prices have been raised by ₹2 per kg — a step he said should ordinarily require a Cabinet decision — and condemned the reported transfer of government officials based on lists provided by party organisational leaders even before a government has been formally constituted, calling it contrary to democratic norms.

Ramakrishnan also pointed out that the High Command's delay in announcing the Chief Minister's name was prolonging uncertainty, and said the people's verdict must be respected without further delay. He assured that the LDF would extend full support to the new government for developmental and welfare activities and would assist on all legitimate issues.
