Thiruvananthapuram: Denying eligible benefits to KSRTC employees is illegal and violates Article 300A of the Constitution, said Human Rights Commission Chairperson Justice Alexander Thomas. He also directed the authorities to take a swift decision on the disbursement of benefits due to employees.
The commission directed that a meeting be convened with the Transport Secretary, KSRTC Managing Director, Legal Officer and representatives of employee unions to discuss the issues.
The commission also said that those who have grievances regarding decisions taken by the Transport Secretary or KSRTC Managing Director should approach the court.
The action was taken on a complaint submitted by S Ajay Kumar, a leader of an employees’ organisation, seeking solutions to issues including irregular salary payments, denial of dearness allowance (DA), failure to deposit National Pension System (NPS) contributions recovered from employees, uncertainty over NPS pensions and delays in depositing provident fund (PF) amounts.
