Nasreena Murder: Adinan Discarded the Phone Himself, CCTV Footage Confirms

Kozhikode: Police investigating the murder of Nasreenan Moozhikkal, Kozhikode, say the accused took his own life after disposing of mobile phones in a well. CCTV footage confirmed that the phones were thrown into the well by the accused, identified as Adinan.

Initially, police suspected that relatives of the victim, Nasreena, may have attempted to destroy the phones. Several close family members were questioned. According to statements, Adinan had previously been assaulted by relatives over concerns about his behaviour.

Investigators found that after committing the murder, Adinan exited the house through the kitchen area and threw the phones into the well. He was familiar with the location where the kitchen door key was kept, and CCTV footage captured the sound of the door being unlocked.

At around 4.50 am, Nasreena’s grandmother, Safiya, called her, suspecting a break-in at the house. At that time, the phone was in Adinan’s possession. When there was no response, Nasreena’s mother, Ramseena, also tried calling. It was then, police believe, that Adinan opened the back door, disposed of the phone, returned to the room, and died by suicide.
