Opportunity for Keralites in the UK to join NORKA Care

London: The UK chapter of the Loka Kerala Sabha has announced an online campaign for NORKA Care, set for October 25, 2025, at 5.30 pm (UK time). Around the world, expatriate organisations have been running registration drives to help Keralites secure health coverage, and this event specifically aims to reach students and workers residing in the UK.

NORKA Care offers a scheme for families that brings peace of mind in uncertain times. For an annual premium of 13,411 rupees, a household comprising a husband, wife, and two children under 25 can secure health insurance worth five lakh rupees alongside personal accident coverage of ten lakh rupees. The scheme will be effective for expatriates from November 1.

At present, the programme allows cashless treatment in more than 16,000 hospitals across India, including over 500 in Kerala. For many years, expatriates have sought a single, dependable plan that could cover medical emergencies and accidents. NORKA Care has grown from that longstanding demand, first discussed at the Loka Kerala Sabha, into a practical reality that people can actually rely on.

Expatriates holding a NORKA Pravasi ID, Student ID, or NRK ID card are eligible to enrol. The response from the community so far has been enthusiastic. Following repeated requests from expatriates and community groups, the enrolment deadline has now been extended to October 30.

Registrations can be completed through the official NORKA Roots website (www.norkaroots.kerala.gov.in) or via the NORKA Care mobile app, which is available for download on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Further details about the online campaign will be released in the coming days, offering those living far from home a chance to secure protection without leaving their doorstep.
