Kerala’s Youngest Organ Donor Aalin Sherin Honored with State Farewell

Pathanamthitta: Aalin Sherin, who made history through organ donation, is being given a state honor as he embarks on her final journey. Public viewing has begun at her home. The funeral of Aalin Sherin Abraham will be held at Nedungadappally St. Thomas Church starting at 3:30 p.m.

Aalin's family was met with a tragic accident while they were traveling from Kottayam to Thiruvalla. The car was involved in an accident near the Pallam Borma junction, resulting in severe injuries to Aalin. She was first admitted to hospitals in Changanassery and Thiruvalla before being transferred to Amrita Hospital in Kochi.

Aalin was declared brain dead on Thursday, and her parents made the courageous decision to donate her organs. In a heartening act of altruism, they agreed to donate Aalin’s liver, two kidneys, a heart valve, and other organs, providing a new lease on life to five individuals. Aalin’s organ donation set a new milestone, as she became the youngest organ donor in Kerala’s history.
