'Savishesha' Special Job Fest in Kerala Empowers Differently-Abled Job Seekers, 254 Selected

Thiruvananthapuram: A Special Job Fest, jointly organized by the Social Justice Department and the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission, drew significant attention due to the active participation of job seekers from the differently-abled community. A total of 36 leading companies took part in the job fair, during which 254 candidates were selected. Overall, 840 job seekers participated in the event.


The job fest was held at Vazhuthacaud Government Women’s College and was inaugurated by General Education Minister V. Sivankutty, with Higher Education Minister Dr. R. Bindu presiding over the function. The job fair was organized as part of “Savisheṣha”, a talent and empowerment initiative for differently abled people, implemented by the Social Justice Department.


A special orientation session was conducted on the main stage for participating candidates. The session focused on choosing careers aligned with one’s interests and abilities, and on how to confidently face job interviews. Candidates who had registered through the Social Justice Department’s website participated in the job fair, while spot registration facilities were also provided for those who had not registered in advance.


The event was attended by Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission Director Dr. P. S. Sreekala, Social Justice Department Director Dr. Mithun Premraj, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities Dr. P. T. Baburaj, Differently-Abled Welfare Corporation Chairperson Adv. M. V. Jaya Dally, Managing Director K. Moitheen Kutty, College Principal-in-Charge Dr. Uma Jyothi, Vijnana Kerala DMCP V. Jinraj, National Career Development Centre Assistant Director Dr. Saji George, and Corporation Director Sree Girish Keerthy, among others.


The job fest marked a significant step toward inclusive employment and empowerment of differently abled individuals in Kerala.
