Thiruvananthapuram: The General Education Department of Kerala has dismissed the widespread claims that the summer vacation for educational institutions in the state has been reduced by one month as false.

In an official statement, General Education Secretary K Vasuki clarified that the vacation schedule remains unchanged as per earlier decisions, and no modifications have been made.

The department stated that the misinformation is being circulated using a forged document falsely issued in the name of the education department. “This appears to be a deliberate attempt to create confusion and panic among students, parents, and teachers,” the secretary said.

She further warned that strict action will be taken against those responsible for creating and spreading the fake document, which misuses her name and official designation.

The department has formally lodged a complaint with the state police chief to investigate the matter and identify those behind the false propaganda.

Authorities have urged the public not to believe or share unverified information and to rely only on official sources for updates regarding academic schedules.
