Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has issued yellow alerts for six districts in Kerala today. Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur are forecast to receive heavy rainfall, with isolated spells of thunder and lightning expected. Rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm over a 24-hour period is anticipated in these areas.
Fishing has been banned along the Kerala and Lakshadweep coasts until June 3. Strong winds of 35 to 45 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 55 km/h at times, are likely along these coasts until June 1, and sea conditions are expected to remain rough.
