Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) has set a new record by issuing 36,813 appointment recommendations for various posts in 2025, marking a major milestone under the LDF government.

This is the third consecutive year that the PSC has made more than 30,000 appointment recommendations. During the year, the Commission issued recruitment notifications for 902 posts, published rank lists for 1,130 posts, and released shortlists for 1,276 posts. Examinations were conducted for 1,405 posts in 2025.

In comparison, the PSC had recommended 34,194 candidates for appointment in 2024 and 34,110 in 2023. Since the LDF government assumed office nine and a half years ago, the total number of appointment recommendations has crossed 300,000.

Officials attributed the increase in appointments to the creation of new posts in essential sectors and the timely reporting of vacancies by government departments. According to official figures, nearly 60 per cent of PSC appointments nationwide are made in Kerala. Data from the Union Public Service Commission also show that the Kerala PSC ranks first in the country in implementing reservation in government appointments.
