Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) has said it operates on the basis of free, transparent and constitutionally grounded guidelines and established precedents. It said in a press note that it is committed to ensuring not even a scratch on the commission's tradition, credibility and reputation.

The commission said that when rare errors occur during recruitment processes covering thousands of posts, it is its practice to identify and correct them thoroughly and permanently, ensuring the integrity of the recruitment process. It asked the media to refrain from amplifying such errors out of proportion.

Due to the confidentiality requirements at various stages of the selection process, the commission said it faces limitations in responding to allegations that arise. The PSC assured that the trust and expectations placed in it by lakhs of candidates will be carefully upheld. It said every decision taken after detailed deliberation is unanimous and constitutionally grounded, and that claims of differences of opinion at commission meetings are therefore untrue.

The commission said that even as various propaganda campaigns are being run against it, the commission and its staff are engaged every moment in free and fair procedures for selecting candidates. It described propaganda campaigns built on falsehoods against the PSC as regrettable.
