UDF Govt Imposes Load Shedding Despite Ongoing Monsoon Rains

Thiruvananthapuram: The UDF government has implemented unannounced load shedding across Keralam even as monsoon rains continue, with power cuts being enforced between 6 pm and midnight until June 30. Power disruptions were reported in recent days across several parts of the state, including in the capital district.
KSEB has justified the measure by citing shortage in expected rainfall and a nationwide power crisis. However, the utility has offered no clear explanation for why the crisis was not anticipated in advance or why arrangements were not made to purchase power from outside the state to bridge the shortfall.
