Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s industrial sector received a significant boost as memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth 1,690 crore were signed in a single day, officials said. The agreements include the Meridian TechPark, an 850-crore IT park at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram by Dubai-based Al Marsouki Holdings, and an 800-crore Industrial Logistics Park in Edayar, being developed in partnership with Panattoni, California, and Edayar Zinc Limited.

The MoUs were exchanged in the presence of Industries Minister P. Rajeev, who also laid the foundation stone for WGH Group’s 40-crore fivestar luxury resort at Varkala on Wednesday.

The Meridian TechPark will be built on 3.5 acres at Phase III of Technopark, featuring a twin tower with 10 lakh sq ft over 21 floors. Around 80% of the space will be dedicated to IT/ITES operations, while the remaining 20% will cater to non-IT purposes. The project is expected to generate direct employment for 10,000 people and indirect employment for 2,000 people. The MoU was signed by Al Marsouki Holdings India CEO Ajish Baladevan and Technopark CEO Kenal Sanjeev Nair, with construction slated to begin within three months.

The Industrial Logistics Park will be developed on 180 acres in Edayar. In the first phase, a Panattoni Park spanning 5.2 lakh sq ft over 20 acres will be constructed. Work on the project is expected to start in 2026 and be completed by February 2027, creating around 6,000 job opportunities. The MoU was signed by Panattoni International MD Norbert Sumislawski and Edayar Zinc Limited MD Muhammad Bismith.
