Kochi: The bitter contest within the Kerala Congress over the Chief Minister's post has erupted into an open public confrontation, with flex boards carrying sharp attacks against Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan appearing outside the Ernakulam District Congress Committee office.

The boards, put up under the name 'Congress Family', target Satheesan by name in pointed language. They warn that his ambition to reach the Chief Minister's chair by undermining senior leaders like Ramesh Chennithala through PR campaigns will not succeed.

The boards suggest widespread discontent within the party ranks against what they describe as Satheesan's attempt to seize power through social media image-building while sidelining leaders who have shed their blood and sweat for the party for decades.

The public display of factional hostility marks a significant escalation in what had until now been a war of social media posts and behind-the-scenes manoeuvring, bringing the Congress's internal power struggle visibly into the streets ahead of the assembly election results
